Where Are They Now? – Isolene Bailey & E'fember Gabriel

Collage showing Holy Cross Anglican School graduates Isolene Bailey and Efember Gabriel with “then and now” photos highlighting their journeys from students to professionals.

As part of our 20th Anniversary, we are proud to highlight former students of Holy Cross Anglican School and where they are today. Through their stories, we celebrate the impact of education, community, and the opportunities that have helped shape their journeys.

Isolene Bailey
Isolene Bailey graduated from Holy Cross Anglican School in 2010 and went on to attend San Pedro High School, graduating in 2014. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Belize and her MBA from Virginia Union University. She now resides in the United States and is the Founder and CEO of Dynamic Dynasty Co., a business dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and small businesses build strong operational foundations through accounting, administrative, and travel support services.

Reflecting on her time at Holy Cross, Isolene shares that the school helped shape who she is today. Beyond academics, she gained confidence, resilience, and the courage to use her voice. She learned responsibility, independence, and the belief that her circumstances did not define her future.

One of her most memorable moments came from a Saturday class with Mrs. Joy Elliott. She was caught eating mangoes during class and was asked to leave the classroom. Because of her actions and the subsequent removal from the classroom, she was faced with the consequence of not being able to complete a section of her PSE exam. While difficult at the time, this experience became one of her most meaningful lessons—teaching her discipline, accountability, and the importance of focus. She reflects on this moment with gratitude, recognizing the care and guidance behind it.

Isolene also credits several teachers for their lasting impact, including Joy Elliott, Monica Williams, and Jan Lamb, whom she describes as a “guardian angel.” Today, serving alongside Jan Lamb on the Holy Cross Education Foundation Board is a full-circle moment that reminds her just how far she has come.

She shares this message with current students: "Stay focused. There will always be distractions, but never lose sight of your goals. The opportunities you receive at Holy Cross can truly change your life if you commit yourself to them."

E'fember Gabriel

E'fember Balentin Gabriel attended Holy Cross Anglican School from 2008 to 2011. He later graduated from high school and now lives in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, where he works as a Sous Chef at the Purple Pelican Restaurant.

E'fember shares that his time at Holy Cross helped him develop important life skills such as independence, problem-solving, leadership, persistence, and empathy. These qualities continue to guide him both personally and professionally.

One of his proudest moments was his graduation from Holy Cross, a milestone that gave him a strong sense of accomplishment and confidence in himself. He also remembers Miss Grace Williams (R.I.P.) as a very important figure in his life, someone who believed in him when he struggled to believe in himself and who offered constant encouragement and guidance.

Today, E'fember is grateful for the opportunities he has received and is proud of the path he has built. He hopes to continue his education in the future by completing an associate degree in Business Management if the opportunity becomes available. He encourages current students to take full advantage of the opportunities they are given. "Education is very important for a brighter future. Stay focused and make the most of every opportunity."

We are incredibly proud of Isolene and E'fember and all they have accomplished. Their journeys are a testament to the lasting impact of education and the supportive community at Holy Cross Anglican School.

Stay tuned for next month’s “Where Are They Now?” feature as we continue to celebrate our graduates and their achievements.
